Sharla Fowler(TX), Job Hou-Seye(WI), Fred Ashford(CA), and George Wells(TX), were 4 of 5 to win a Jackass of the Year Award.
There were only 3 Wisconsin Lifters in attendance at the NASA Natural Nationals Banquet, in January, but they got their exercise that Saturday Night, as they went up to accept not only their own Awards, but also Awards for 4 Wisconsin Lifters who were not in attendance. Steve Korff, 50, of Sheboygan Falls, WI, received Career High Honors, not just once, but twice during the evening. After lifting with Rich Peters for 31 years, and in NASA since its inception, Steve became one of 8 Inductees to the Powerlifting Hall of Fame, for the year 2010. Korff also received an Award for Masters 2 Powerlifter of the Year, and was named Powerlifter of the Year for 2010, the Co-Equivalent of NASA's 2nd Highest Honor. Job Hou-Seye, 43, of Sheboygan, WI, was named the 2010 Coach of the Year, as well as 2010 State Chairman of the Year for NASA. His son Samson, 10, was Runner-up for Youth Athlete of the Year. Although not in attendance, David Anderson, 55, of Green Bay, WI, was Runner-up for Masters 2 Powerlifter of the Year. Wendy Hou-Seye, 43, of Sheboygan, WI, was Runner-up for the Women's Master's 1 Power Sports Lifter of the Year. And Nicole Bielecki, 22, of Thiensville, WI, was named the 2010 Women's Junior Powerlifter of the Year. Six of the seven were Roster Members of Team Wisconsin at the 2010 NASA World Cup in Denver, CO, and the 7th, Wendy Hou-Seye, was an Alternate for Team Wisconsin. Wisconsin Lifters who could not make it to the National Banquet, will have their Awards presented at the Annual Wisconsin Banquet, on Friday Evening, May 6th, in Sheboygan, WI, along with the Nominees who are named the Winners of the 2010 Wisconsin Athlete of the Year Awards.
